I’m an agent at the Emerald City Literary Agency, representing children’s literature authors, including picture books, middle grade and young adult fiction, and non-fiction. Before joining ECLA I was an associate agent at The Jennifer DeChiara Literary Agency for 4 1/2 years. Prior to that I read manuscripts, book proposals, and queries at Folio Literary Management; was Submissions Manager at The McVeigh Agency; did a short stint at the Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency and a longer stint at Meryl Zegarek Public Relations. Previous to that I was a Community Relations Manager at Barnes and Noble, where I set up author readings and signings and organized book groups and book fairs. I graduated from Buffalo University with a BA in English and Environmental Studies and went on for graduate work in Creative Writing at Temple University. I also seem to have picked up a BSN from New York University in my travels. I’m currently an MFA student at The New School, in their Writing for Children and Young Adults program. I’m a member of the New York chapter of the Women’s National Book Association and SCBWI, and a council member for the Rutgers University Council on Children’s Literature and Rutgers One-on-One Writing Conference. I speak frequently at writing conferences and retreats all over the country and welcome invitations to do so.
