vonnegut on writing

One response to “vonnegut on writing

  1. I’ve been listening to the birds this summer, more so than in other years, and I’m starting to be able to pick out their particular calls. So that has gotten me thinking more about my voice as a writer, and I really appreciated this article. I laughed out loud when Vonnegut said that in Indianapolis “common speech sounds like a band saw cutting galvanized tin, and employs a vocabulary as unornamental as a monkey wrench.” That is so like Western New York where I live. Thank you, Kurt Vonnegut, for giving me permission to be and to sound like who I am.

So...whatcha got?
